Sentinel is an Android application that reads your device's GPS location at a configurable interval and sends it to recipients you choose (via SMS or Telegram). This policy explains exactly what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what it does not do.
Sentinel accesses the following data on your device:
No other personal data is accessed or collected. Sentinel does not read your contacts, messages, call logs, photos, or any other content stored on the device.
Location data is used solely to compose and deliver a position message to the recipients you configured in the app. The message contains your coordinates, accuracy radius, and a Google Maps link.
The developer of Sentinel never receives, stores, or processes your location. No server operated by the developer is involved at any point.
Depending on which recipient types you configure, location data may be transmitted via the following channels:
You are responsible for ensuring that the recipients you configure have consented to receiving your location.
Configuration (recipient list, settings) and a delivery history log are stored locally on your device using the app's private storage. This data is not backed up to any cloud service by the app itself (standard Android backup rules apply depending on your device settings). No data is ever uploaded to a remote server by Sentinel.
To send your location while the screen is off or the app is in the background, Sentinel requests the "Allow all the time" location permission and runs as a foreground service (indicated by a persistent notification). This permission is used exclusively for the delivery purpose described above.
Sentinel itself does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK. The only external network communication is the Telegram Bot API call described in section 3, and only when you have configured a Telegram recipient.
All data (configuration and delivery log) exists only on your device. Uninstalling Sentinel removes all locally stored data. The developer holds no copy of any data and cannot delete data on your behalf.
Sentinel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
